Steering wheel is locked and key wont turn...

i jiggled the steering wheel for about an hr or so and still cant get the key to turn. Is there like and "o shit release button" or anything i can to do to get the key to turn. Or is there a post somewhere on how to change the key/starter/ignition switch or how to unlock the steering wheel.

no magic release, gotta figure out either the sweet spot for the key, or which is too worn, the key or the ignition.

i tryed my key and my spare key... so now my guess is the ignition is shot.... are there any how to's? or is it simple? I have done alot of work on cars but never had an igniton go out...

where did your spare key come from?

you might be better off getting a key cut from saturn

if you buy a different ignition lock cylinder, then you can change the wafers to fit the new key

Bought a key from a gm dealer. Still wont turn the ignition. How do i go about changing the Ignition switch? like how do i get it out and how does it go back in?

EDIT: Just found a vid on how to get the cylinder out. How am i supose to the cylinder out i cant turn the key to acc????

Still cant get the key to turn at all. So i figured id just replace the whole ignition key assembly and the steering wheel is locked and i cant get to the bolts on the back side to get the airbag off...

So i am kinda stuck and now thinking i have to replace the whole steering column. Any ideas would be appreciated

you might have to get a small drill bit and drill both sides of the wafers out and then break what's left to turn it to remove it

you did turn the steering wheel off the lock right? the ignition wont turn with the wheel holding pressure on the locks

Turn the wheel to the leftto pull it off the lock. Like mentioned, it you are trying to turn the key with pressure on the lock, it will not turn.

i know how to unlock a steering wheel. The key would not turn no matter what way the steering wheel was or how much i jiggled it.
